An AI chatbot for local shops with a website and Instagram

A lot of questions to a shop don't come by phone any more. They arrive as an Instagram message at half ten at night. The bot answers what it can from your information and passes stock questions to your team.

  • Opening hours, directions, click & collect
  • Website, Instagram and WhatsApp together
  • Stock questions go to your team

The situation

The bag from Saturday's post

Tuesday, 9:20pm. A customer replies to your Instagram story: ‘do you still have the brown leather bag from saturdays post? can i pick it up on my lunch break tomorrow?’

Whether the bag is still on the shelf, nobody knows at this hour. Everything else is known, though: you open at 9:30, collection is at the till, and the nearest car park is round the corner. That half of the answer a bot can give right away.

We'll be clear about this because it's often promised otherwise: My-Chatify isn't connected to your till system or stock management. It doesn't know what's on your shop floor.

In detail

What you get

What the bot knows about your shop

Whatever you give it: your website, a PDF with your brands, range and services, and Q&A pairs about gift cards, exchanges and putting items aside.

When your hours change, say between Christmas and New Year, updating the website is enough. With auto-recrawl the bot picks up the new times.

  • Opening hours, including bank holidays and Sunday openings
  • Directions, car park, bus stop
  • How click & collect and reserving work
  • Exchanges, gift cards, alterations
  • Which brands you stock

Stock: passed on honestly, not guessed

If someone asks about a size, model or colour in store, the bot tells them plainly that it can't see current stock. It notes the item and size and passes the question to your team.

Next morning someone checks the shelf and replies from the inbox. The customer gets the answer wherever they asked, on Instagram or on your website.

If you also run an online shop on Shopware or Shopify, things look different. The bot then knows the shop's products and shows them as product cards. That's your online range, though, not what's sitting on the shelf in town.

Instagram and WhatsApp are part of it

For a lot of shops, Instagram is the real shop window. From the Professional plan, the same bot answers there and on WhatsApp too, with the same knowledge as on your website.

If someone sends a photo of something they're looking for, the image lands with the conversation in your inbox. The bot can't identify the product in it, but your team sees straight away what it's about. And when you reply yourself in the Instagram app, the bot steps back so you don't talk over each other.

How it works

How to start

No coding, no IT project. Live in under 3 minutes.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions we hear most often about this topic.

Can the bot see what we've got in stock in the shop?

No. There's no link to till systems or stock management. The bot takes down stock questions and passes them on to you.

We don't have an online shop. Is it still worth it?

If you regularly get questions about opening hours, parking or putting things aside, yes. Try it on the free plan and check the analytics after a couple of weeks to see what people actually ask.

Who answers the messages the bot passes on?

Your team, in the shared My-Chatify inbox. All channels end up there, each message marked as website, Instagram or WhatsApp.

Can customers reserve an item through the chat?

The bot can take down a request with item, size, name and phone number. Whether it gets put aside is up to your team, since only they can look at the shelf.

How do we get the chat onto our website?

With a short script tag that you or your web person pastes in. It works with WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, TYPO3 and most other systems.
