An AI chatbot for car dealers: test drives, servicing, trade-ins
Someone browsing a car on your website in the evening usually wants to know two things. Is it still there, and when can I drive it. The bot answers from your vehicle pages and puts the test drive straight into the calendar.
does the silver estate have a tow bar? i'd like a test drive
Dealership Assistant
Good evening! Yes, according to the vehicle description it has a detachable tow bar. For a test drive, Tuesday is still free:

The situation
Saturday, 9:30pm, on the vehicle page
Someone has looked at the blue hatchback four times today. They type into the chat: ‘is it automatic? and do you do finance, im self employed’. The showroom closed at four.
On Monday the salesperson calls back, and by then they've been to the dealer in the next town. The workshop side isn't much different. Anyone wanting to book a tyre change spends eight in the morning on hold.
In detail
What you get
01
Questions about a vehicle
The bot reads the vehicle pages on your website and answers questions about spec, mileage, first registration or warranty with what's written there. With daily re-crawling it stays reasonably current.
To be straight with you: when a car is sold, the bot only knows once your website has been read again. There's no connection to your dealer management system or to vehicle marketplaces. For ‘is it still available?’ it makes sense to have the team confirm.
02
Test drives and service appointments
For test drives, a flow asks which car, which day and whether they hold a licence, then offers free slots from your calendar. Calendly, Google Calendar and Outlook are supported.
The workshop works the same way with different questions. Using branches in the flow, you can offer one set of slots for an inspection and another for a tyre change.
✓Registration number and model
✓Inspection, tyres, roadworthiness test
✓Collection and delivery wanted or not
✓Phone number for queries
03
Trade-ins as leads
The bot won't put a price on someone's old car. That would be guesswork. It asks for what your buying team needs for a first estimate: make, model, year, mileage, condition. On WhatsApp, customers can send photos, which are stored with the conversation in your inbox.
The lead goes into your list and, if you like, by email to sales or by webhook into your own system.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions we hear most often about this topic.
Can the bot calculate finance or leasing offers?
No. It can explain which finance options you offer if that's in your sources, and pass the request to sales. Actual monthly rates are worked out by your team.
How does the bot know which cars we have?
From the vehicle pages on your website, which it re-reads regularly. We don't have an interface to your DMS or to vehicle marketplaces.
Sales and the workshop are separate teams. Can it handle that?
Yes. Using branches in a flow, the bot separates sales and workshop enquiries and offers the matching appointment slots for each.
What about complaints?
A person deals with those. When someone writes about a problem or asks for a member of staff, the bot hands the conversation, history included, to your team.
How long does setup take?
The basics with your website and the widget usually take under 3 minutes. Allow a bit more time for the test drive and workshop flows.
