Shopware shop for running shoes, Saturday, 11:52 pm

The situation

What happens in your shop when nobody answers

Saturday, 11:10 pm. A dad is looking for a rain jacket for his daughter, age 10, ideally yellow. The filter shows a whole row of jackets, but he only finds out whether her size is in stock by opening each product page. After the fourth one he gives up and orders from a big marketplace instead.

Then on Monday the other messages arrive. Where's my order? Can I swap these trousers for a different size? Do you ship to Austria? Nearly every answer is already somewhere in the shop. People just don't enjoy hunting for it.

Wilesco brought a chatbot into their Shopware shop for exactly this. It's connected to the catalogue, checks order status and hands special cases to the team. With 1,240 conversations a week, order-status follow-up questions have dropped by 82 %.

In detail

What you get

01

A shopping assistant that knows your catalogue

Connected to Shopware or Shopify, the bot searches your live catalogue rather than a copy from last week. It finds matching products with their prices and shows them right in the chat as product cards. If someone asks for the yellow jacket in age 10, the bot checks whether it exists.

Customers search the chat the way they'd ask an assistant in a shop: by size, colour or price, or all three at once. "Anything blue under 50 euros?" works fine. Results appear as product cards with an image, the price and a buy button.

On top of the catalogue, the bot uses anything else you give it, such as size charts, care instructions or your shipping page. It answers in the language it's asked in, so a question in French gets a French reply without you having to translate your shop.

  • Products, prices, variants and stock in real time
  • Search by size, colour and price in the chat
  • Product cards with image, price and buy button

Product recommendations that match the question

Good recommendations start with a question. Someone typing "present for my nephew, he's 10 and into gadgets" doesn't need a homepage full of bestsellers. They need a handful of suggestions that actually fit.

The bot searches the catalogue for what's being described and shows suitable products as cards. Because it knows stock levels, it can tell people what's available right now. If the customer asks a follow-up, say whether the kit needs extra parts, it answers from your product data and descriptions.

There's one limit worth knowing about. The bot recommends from what's in your catalogue and your texts. Thin product descriptions mean thin recommendations. The analytics show which questions it struggled with, which tells you where a better product text would pay off.

Order support: status, shipping and returns

"Where's my order?" is one of the most common questions in almost any shop. In Shopware shops, the bot asks for the order number and looks up the status directly. The customer gets an answer immediately, and your team never sees the email. That lookup is Shopware-only for now. Everything else in this section works in any shop.

Questions about delivery times, shipping costs, destinations and returns are answered from your shipping and returns pages. How long do I have to send it back? Where do I get the returns label? If it's on your website, it's in the chat.

Special cases stay with you. A damaged parcel, a goodwill request, an order that's been stuck for days. The bot hands those over to your team in live chat, and you see the whole conversation including the order number. That's how Wilesco runs it, too.

  • Order status by order number, straight from Shopware
  • Answers on delivery times and shipping
  • Returns questions based on your own policy
  • Special cases handed over to your team

How it works

How to get started

No coding, no IT project. Live in under 3 minutes.

  1. 01

    Connect your shop

Link the assistant to your Shopware or Shopify catalogue. On a different shop system, give the bot your shop URL and product information instead.

  2. 02

    Add shipping and returns

Shipping page, returns policy, size charts: add everything customers ask about as a URL or file. Then test in the Playground with real questions from your inbox.

  3. 03

    Go live

Add the script tag to your shop and adjust colours and logo. It usually takes less than 3 minutes.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions we hear most often about this topic.

Does it work with Shopify or WooCommerce?

With Shopify, yes: the bot searches the catalogue live there too and shows product cards. Order status lookups are Shopware-only for now. On WooCommerce and other shops you embed the chat with a script tag, and the bot answers from your product pages, which it crawls from a URL.

How current are prices and stock levels?

With the Shopware or Shopify connection, the bot searches your catalogue live for every question, so whatever you change in the shop applies in the chat straight away. On other shop systems it re-crawls your product pages regularly.

Can the bot change or cancel orders?

No. It can look up the status for an order number and answer questions about shipping and returns. Changes, cancellations and anything involving goodwill go to your team.

Can it help customers from other countries?

Yes. It replies in the language the customer writes in, even if your product data is in German. The chat window itself is available in German, English, French, Spanish, Italian and Dutch.

What does it cost?

You'll find the plans and prices on our pricing page. We're happy to talk through which plan suits your shop and your shop connection.
