Website chatbot

An AI chatbot for your website that knows your own documents

You hand the bot your PDFs, web pages and the questions you answer every week. It uses them to answer your visitors right there on your site, including the hours when nobody is at a desk.

People ask when you're not around

Tuesday, 23:15. Someone is planning a weekend away and has your guesthouse website open on their phone. They want to know two things: can they check in after nine in the evening, and is the dog allowed. There's an email address at the bottom of the page. They don't bother. They book somewhere else.

You never hear about it, because no enquiry was ever sent. And honestly, it's mostly the same twenty questions. Check-in times, parking, cancellations, prices, whether this works with that. The answers are already on your website or in a PDF somewhere. People just can't find them fast enough.

That's the job of the website chatbot. It reads what you give it and uses it to answer the question someone is asking right now, in full sentences and in their language.

In detail

What you get

Where the bot gets its answers

You upload PDFs and Word files, paste in text, add question-and-answer pairs, or simply give it your website address and let it crawl the pages. Everything goes into a separate database that belongs to your assistant alone. For every question, the bot searches those sources first and only then writes its reply.

It only knows what's in your sources. If something is missing, it says so instead of guessing. Those gaps show up in your analytics as unanswered questions, which is a handy to-do list for the next document you should add.

  • PDFs, Word files and plain text
  • Website URLs, crawled for you
  • Q&A pairs for the tricky details
  • Automatic re-crawl daily, weekly or monthly

Adding it to your site

The widget goes onto your site with one short script tag. That works in WordPress, Shopify, Shopware, TYPO3, Wix, Webflow, Squarespace and plain HTML, and just as well in React, Next.js or Vue projects. If you can edit your own website, you can do this yourself.

Colours, logo, welcome text and the little speech bubble next to the chat icon are all set in the dashboard. Answers appear word by word as they're written, so nobody sits staring at an empty box wondering if anything is happening.

Languages and AI models

The widget interface comes in German, English, French, Spanish, Italian and Dutch. The assistant replies in whatever language the visitor writes in. A guest from Rotterdam who asks about parking in Dutch gets the answer in Dutch.

You pick the AI model behind it. Models from OpenAI, Google Gemini and Anthropic are available, with the more advanced ones included in the paid plans.

When a person needs to step in

Some questions belong with a human. A complaint with a back story, a group booking with special requests, or someone who simply wants to talk to a person. In those cases the bot hands over to your team. You reply from the My-Chatify inbox with the whole conversation in front of you, and the customer doesn't have to start again.

If you like, the bot can ask for contact details before or during the chat and save them as leads. Appointments can be booked right in the chat via Calendly, Google Calendar or Outlook.

How it works

Three steps to your own website chatbot

No coding, no IT project. Live in under 3 minutes.

  1. 01

    Create an assistant

The setup wizard asks for a name, language, design and AI model. That part takes a few minutes.

  2. 02

    Add content and test it

Upload documents or enter your website address. Then ask it the questions your customers ask in the Playground, before anyone else gets to see it.

  3. 03

    Put it live

Paste the script tag into your website. Most people are live in under 3 minutes.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions we hear most often about this topic.

Do I need a developer?

No. If you can paste a line of code into your site, in WordPress or Shopify for example, that's all it takes. If you do get stuck, our team in Dortmund will help you set it up.

Will the bot make things up?

It's built to answer only from your sources. If the answer isn't there, it says so and can offer to put the visitor in touch with your team. No AI comes with an absolute guarantee, which is why a proper round of testing in the Playground before launch is worth the time.

What happens when my website changes?

Website sources can be re-crawled automatically, daily, weekly or monthly. PDFs you've uploaded need replacing by hand when there's a new version.

Is it GDPR-compliant?

It's hosted on servers in Germany and the EU, connections are TLS-encrypted, and we provide a data processing agreement (DPA). Your conversations and content are never used for AI training, either by us or by the AI providers.

Can the same bot answer on WhatsApp?

Yes. From the Professional plan, the same assistant with the same knowledge also covers WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook Messenger. All of those conversations land in one shared inbox.
